HR Assistant
Applied online and had a initial phone interview in 3 days. For an initial interview, the person was 10 min late and had a very in depth questions from the very start. The way they went about the interview was a first for me. She immediately asked very thorough questions about the law and put me on the spot about laws and regulations FOR an HR assistant job. The interviewer asked if I knew Title VII. FMLA, ADA, etc. and was grilling me about it. There wasn't a lot of situational questions, it felt very demanding and almost interrogation like. It was not pleasant at all. She also didn't even describe the company. Interviews go both ways. I'm not only interviewing for the job, but I am also interviewing the company to see if this is the job for me. Mid-way through the interview I knew this company was not how they represent themselves. Very disappointing interviewing process.
- How do you stay organized?
- Can you explain Title VII?
- What is FMLA?
IT Support Administrator
I applied online and then heard back from a recruiter for a 30-minute phone screen. The recruiter was nice and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. I did some research on the company's location and background before the interview.
- How does your background connect with the requirements of this job?
- Can you describe your experience working with clients?
- What's your reason for wanting to move on from your present job?

The interview process was pretty straightforward and easy. They were mainly interested in getting to know me and what I've been up to. They started with some basic questions and then naturally moved into a discussion about what it's like to work there. After we finished talking, I asked if there were any specific qualifications I might be lacking since this was my very first job. They assured me it's an entry-level position, great for students or anyone with minimal to no prior work experience. They're actively looking for new hires, so don't worry if you don't have a traditional background; you can still get the job.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
Registered Nurse
This was the most uncomfortable and awkward interview that I’ve ever had in my life! It was never disclosed that it would be sort of a panel interview. It was clear they were not interested in me before I even spoke a word based on the looks on their face. They were all very stand-offish & clearly had made up their minds before the interview even started. Due to the hemming and hawing during the interview trying to figure out what to ask me to pass time, they lost a great candidate and wasted both of our time! It’s ideal to narrow down your interviews to 3-4 people max for one open position.
- Tell me about your management style.
- How would you approach a situation where a family is complaining?
- What makes you want to work for this organization?
