First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Human Longevity.
Director of Business Development
I interviewed over the span of a year. Lots of chats with different people across departments. Started in Aug 2024 with 3 interviews, then got ghosted. Reached out again in Apr 2025, had 1 interview, then got ghosted 1 min before the 2nd. They contacted me again in Aug 2025 for an onsite that was 2 hours. We talked about the role, expectations, salary, and options. The final interview was with the board chair. They came back with a very low offer that wasn't negotiable.

Network Engineer
The first interview was a standard phone screen by an HR recruiter. The in person consisted of multiple rounds of 30 minute interviews with the 2 or more team members. I spent almost 5 hours in total at their offices and enjoyed myself immensely. I received positive feedback initially since my skills and experience lined up with their job posting but nothing official was said. After four days I was told that I would not be offered a position due a perceived unwillingness to travel. I felt this this was discriminatory based on my response to the interviewer that I had a newborn (3 weeks old) and had indicated that I would be available initially for limited regional travel in the first few weeks and would be able to travel for more extended periods in a month or two. I'm at a complete loss as how a company could behave in such an unprofessional manner.

Business Intelligence Engineer
So I had this 30-minute phone screen with the lead and a senior dev, and they really liked me. Since I'm local, they invited me for an onsite interview right away. The first thing they asked me at the onsite was 'When can you start?'. They didn't ask any technical questions, the lead actually spent time telling me about future projects. Then the HR came in and asked about my ideal boss, my favorite sports teams, and what I do outside of work. I thought I answered everything well. The HR mentioned they were interviewing someone else and would get back to me by next week. I ended up waiting three weeks and then had to call them myself. The HR then told me the position was filled and they didn't even bother to inform me. Such a waste of my time.

Bioinformatics Scientist
I learned about the company from a talk by an employee at my current workplace. I then applied online for an open position. After some time, a recruiter contacted me and scheduled a phone interview. This went well, and about a week later, the company's office admin reached out to set up another phone interview with one of the scientists. This second phone interview happened six days later and also went well. Another week passed, and I was invited for an onsite interview, which took place twenty days after that. During the initial phone calls, the recruiter and scientist didn't ask technical questions, mostly asking me to elaborate on my CV. The onsite interview was quite long, from noon to 5 pm. I felt like I was repeating myself, explaining my research and answering similar questions multiple times to the seven different people I met with one-on-one. Three days after the onsite, the recruiter informed me I wasn't selected.
