The hiring manager called me for a quick phone screen to ask about my experience and salary expectations. Then there was a solo video interview where I had to record my answers. I'm still waiting to hear about the next steps.

I applied through the company website and a recruiter from HR called me about a week later. Two weeks after that, I had a meeting with the hiring manager. It's been four weeks and I haven't heard back from them via email or phone, so I'm assuming I didn't get the job because they reposted it. It's funny because their website sent me an email saying this job might interest me.

The first interview was good, very professional people, they asked basic company info, my management style, and my estimating experience. The second interview was terrible, the interviewer was a jerk and made the job sound incredibly difficult and stressful, likely because he can't handle his own job. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview, designed to provoke and see how I'd react under pressure. He asked about my strengths and weaknesses and why he should hire me, but wouldn't let me answer, twisting my words. I suggest calling him out on it. I actually laughed at his arrogance, which he didn't take well. If I got a third interview or an offer, I'd decline. It seems like you have to be a brown-noser to work for him, and I work to provide for my family, not to worship my boss. A stressed manager leads to stressed employees. Advice to the interviewer: treat people with respect, walk with them, make them comfortable, and remember you're also being evaluated. I was respectful throughout.

I had a phone interview with a recruiter, and it went really well. She said she'd "highly" recommend me to the hiring manager. Then, two weeks passed with no word. I saw the job ad again on CareerBuilder and emailed the recruiter (it took two tries for her to reply). She wrote back saying she'd been trying to reach the hiring manager, but they weren't responding. She also mentioned that, knowing the company, a different manager might reach out in about a week. I haven't heard anything since. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd even consider talking to them again after how they strung me along and then totally ignored me. If they treat potential employees like this, I bet their company reviews from current employees are spot on.
