Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hughes Network Systems.
Buyer
The interview process included an initial phone interview, followed by an in-person meeting where I spoke with five different people individually. After the in-person interviews, there was a phase where I was asked many questions. About two weeks after the final stage, I received a job offer.
- Do you prefer working on your own or as part of a team?
Buyer
I went to College Day recruiting. They flew me down and paid for the entire trip (food, hotel, rental car, gas, etc). We went on a tour of the factory, then I interviewed with 4 of the Supply Chain leaders in the factory. 2 of them asked really tough questions, while the other two were pretty casual. Overall, it was a great experience; everyone was friendly and you could tell HR really knew how to impress recruits.
- What actions would you take if you were in a sole source position?
Planner
After submitting my application, I had interviews with three people: my direct manager, their manager, and someone I would be working with.
- Were you aware of the expectations that come with working in a union environment?
