The interview process was quite involved, with several steps including a personality assessment and panel interviews. The team was generally nice to interact with. The hiring manager seemed professional but was difficult to gauge. After reaching the final stages, I received a rejection that was not very clear. While hiring managers have the discretion to choose whomever they prefer, I believe candidates who invest significant time in a demanding process deserve a more professional and considerate response.

I spoke with 11 people in total, including 4 from HR. HR kept emailing me about who was handling my application. I told HR upfront in the first call that I couldn't commute more than 2 days/week, preferably one, due to the distance. She said she'd check with the hiring manager, which she did, and I got scheduled with them soon after. After meeting the hiring manager, I had 5 interviews in one day over Zoom. I asked someone how we'd work together, and they said, "We won't be." About a week later, I had my 7th interview with a VP, who told me the original hiring manager left and they might be restructuring, so the VP might not be my long-term supervisor. They also said they're making everyone come back to the office 3 days/week, no exceptions, because employees aren't trusted. It felt like 5-6 hours of my time was wasted. I never heard back, not even a rejection email, despite following up. I guess I dodged a bullet. It was unprofessional and chaotic. They should have been upfront. I don't mind rejection, but not rudeness. Others have had similar experiences.

The hiring process was quite lengthy. I had meetings with every single person on the team, and we met a total of four times. It started with HR, then I met with the managers, directors, and eventually the VP. I get that it's important for the candidate to fit in with the team, but meeting with seven different people just to make a decision seems a bit excessive. I was kind of flattered that I got that far, though.

First, there's a phone interview with HR. If you pass, they'll call you the same day to set up an in-person interview. You won't know who you're interviewing with, making research tough. Then, you'll have an in-person interview with two people: the Marketing Hiring Manager and the Design Manager. They'll discuss the company and ask about your resume and experience.
