Supply Chain Executive
It was a four stage interview process, all very well organised and good communication throughout. The whole process took one month. HR gave feedback at every stage and within 1/2 days. It started with an initial discovery call with HR, then a Face to Face interview with team manager and team director, followed by a Face to Face interview with COO and two other employees at the company, and finally a Virtual interview with Head of HR.
- Tell me about a past experience and provide real examples of different working scenarios.
- Can you give an example of how you handle conflict?
- Can you give an example of how you handle working to tight deadlines?
Supply Chain Executive
I went through 3 stages, similar to others before me. First up was a 30-minute chat with someone from the Huel talent team. We just went over my experience, why I'm looking for a change, and what my salary expectations are. It was super chill and friendly, and we were both pretty open about what we wanted. The second stage involved a task directly related to my usual job, which I had to prep and then discuss in person with my future boss and their manager. They were both really nice, and the interview was pretty standard difficulty-wise. I even got a tour and some freebies! The final stage was supposed to be in person too, but they switched it to remote over 2 days for me. This involved 3 video calls that were mostly about culture fit, but they threw in some standard interview questions too. I chatted with the COO for 15 mins, then 30 mins with future teammates, and finished with a 15-minute call with the founder. I'd heard Julian (the founder) could be pretty blunt, and he was, but it felt more like a rapid-fire Q&A, so having concise answers ready about myself and my experience was key, as we covered a lot.
- Can you tell me about your background and relevant experience, why Huel specifically, your level of autonomy in past roles, and examples of past issue resolution?
- What qualities and actions define an ideal candidate for this position?
- How would you describe yourself in three words?
Marketing Executive
It was a really long interview process. Started with a phone screening, then an hour-long interview with the manager where I had to give a presentation I prepared. After that, I met the team. The whole thing took about a month. I got to the third 'meet the team' round, and they told me the final stage was meeting the founder. They warned me he's a 'tough nut to crack' and not to take his rudeness personally because he's 'like that to everyone.' This was a bit funny considering their 'don't be a ****' company culture they keep pushing. HR then called me with the wrong name when they told me I didn't get the job, which felt like a slap in the face after all the work I put in.
- Tell me about someone who inspires you.
- Can you describe yourself using only three words?
- Could you provide some examples?

The interview process began with a standard phone call with HR. We discussed why I was interested in the role and asked some general competency questions. The HR person was really nice and told me right away that I had passed. They then set up a more detailed video interview for the next morning. This video interview was with two technical managers. It focused solely on technical questions. We had 25 minutes left in the call to leave, complete a task, and then rejoin. The interviewers seemed to be looking for very specific experience. They quickly dismissed my answers if they weren't exactly what they were looking for. It was obvious during the call that I wasn't the right fit for them and they weren't interested in moving forward with my application. I think there's another interview with the Huel CEO before a job offer is made.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Huel and what your understanding of their products is?
