This was a group hire, so it was less of an interview and more about seeing if things aligned. It went quite smoothly over two in-person visits after an initial call. Everyone was very pleasant.

I had a phone interview that lasted about an hour. It was a nice chat with standard behavioral questions, nothing too tricky. They asked about my familiarity with CRM software and my previous work history. I was also asked about how I'd approach prioritizing in tough spots and how I deal with challenges.

The interview process started off a bit awkward since it was via Zoom. It felt casual yet professional and lasted under an hour. I was told the next step would be a 'working' interview. About two weeks later, I got a tour of the lab and met some of the team. The person I assumed I'd be replacing seemed really passionate and informative, clearly expecting me to get the job.

I applied online and heard back within about 1.5 weeks to schedule an initial phone screen. This first call was with another developer and an HR rep, and it was pretty laid-back, mainly asking about my past software development work, my career aspirations, and my experience with different programming languages and technologies. After that, I had another phone interview with the hiring manager. This one wasn't technical and focused more on my previous experiences and what motivated me to apply. The last step was supposed to be an on-site interview, but I had to cancel because I'd already accepted another offer. My overall experience was great – all the people I spoke with were friendly, open, and happy to chat about work-life balance and living in Huntsville, AL. The hiring manager was really enthusiastic about her job and explained her career path to HudsonAlpha and why she's stayed there.
