Behavioral Other

I had a chat with the Sales Director and also with HR, one after the other. The Sales Director went over what the job entails and the role itself. Then HR went over the finer details of the position, like the pay and commission structure. Neither interview took a lot of time.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked me about my past experiences and my current work. I also got a tour of the building and saw their expansion plans. The interview lasted about 1.5 hours. I got an offer on the spot, but mentioned I had another offer and needed a written one by the weekend. They couldn't provide it, so I didn't take the job. I heard they hadn't interviewed anyone in 3 months, which seems a bit strange.

It started with a 20-minute phone screening with HR, asking some basic testing knowledge questions. Then, I had an hour-long phone interview with the hiring manager and an HR specialist about mobile testing and my background. After that, I was invited for a 3-hour on-site interview. The first part was with 3 software testers doing domain-specific and behavioral questions. Next, the software development manager talked about Agile and the tester's role in the SDLC. It finished with a 10-15 minute chat with the COO, who also gave me a tour. They didn't offer me the job, but it was a good experience, and everyone was professional.

The people were nice, but it felt like a waste of time. They told me my salary expectations were within their budget, but then extended an offer that didn't match. It makes you wonder why they'd do a phone screen and two in-person interviews if they already knew what they could spend on salary.
