Software Engineer
I went through multiple interview rounds. The first one was a quick chat with the CTO over Zoom, and the next three rounds were in-person. Only one of the in-person rounds was a technical assessment. Overall the interviewers were friendly, but the process felt a little disorganized. Some interviewers were late and one didn't show up entirely. Each of them were also happy to give their thoughts on why their Glassdoor reviews are so bad when I asked.
- Can you describe how you would implement a paginated table in a web application?
Customer Onboarding Manager
I had a pretty bad recruiting experience. The recruiter's communication was all over the place, and I often had to chase them for updates, sometimes with no response. At one point, I wasn't getting callbacks and only connected by calling from a different number. Even though they said I was still in the running, it felt like I was doing all the work to get any news. After a few rounds, they told me they wanted someone more 'junior,' which was weird since the job post asked for at least 5 years of experience, which I have. I went through six interviews (four in person), including a detailed mock onboarding call that I spent a lot of time prepping for. In the end, I felt like I was misled and really let down by how they handled everything.

Tenant Engagement Specialist
The interview process with HqO was great and super fast, but really thorough. I started with a phone screening with HR, where we talked about what I was looking for. She actually suggested a different role that was a better fit for me and the company. Then, I set up an interview with a manager. After that, I had back-to-back interviews with four different HqO managers/employees, each for 30 minutes. It was a bit much over Google Meets, but it was cool to get a sense of the team and the vibe. The final interview was with the CRO on a different day. After all the interviews, I had to send a Google survey to two of my previous employers about my work style and personality. I also had to take a skills/IQ test and a personality test that took about 30-45 minutes. Then, I got a call with the offer. The whole thing took about 2 weeks, which is pretty fast given how detailed it was. I felt good about the job and the people I'd be working with.
- Tell me about your academic performance.
- Would you say you are a skilled writer?
Talent Acquisition
I had a 30-minute phone screen with People Ops. At the end of the call, they invited me to meet two hiring managers. The person I spoke with asked for my availability the following week. Since I didn't hear back by Tuesday, I emailed to confirm if the interview was still on. I got a response on Thursday, two days later, saying it was a busy week and coordinating with the hiring team was tough. I provided my availability for the next week. I heard back almost a week later, on a Wednesday, that the interview with the hiring team was scheduled for the very next day, a Thursday, which was two weeks after the initial phone screen. The first person I met on Zoom was five minutes late and had to take an urgent personal call mid-conversation, which took about five minutes. I muted my Zoom call and waited. The whole process seemed disorganized and the candidate experience was clearly not a priority. I received a rejection email 13 days later from People Ops.
