Behavioral Group

It was a pretty typical interview process with a group of people. It took quite a while, like many months, from when I first applied to when the interview actually happened. The interviewers seemed friendly and the questions they asked were on point.

Behavioral Presentation Other

This Director of Marketing job had a long hiring process, spanning over six months. It started with at least two phone interviews, then a Zoom meeting with several team members. The final stage was an in-person interview with the college president. They also asked for writing samples, recommendation letters, and portfolios at various points. While the interviews themselves were mostly positive, the biggest letdown was the lack of communication at the end. Even though I was one of the top two candidates, they never bothered to let me know when the position was offered to someone else. This poor communication from the administration is a major turn-off, and I wouldn't consider working there or even pursuing other development opportunities with the college because of it, especially from a department that's supposed to handle communications.

Behavioral Technical

They have too many librarians with full PhDs working part time do to cost-cutting. They made it clear that they did not actually feel the position was needed. There were two interviewers. One was kind and the other was openly hostile. She told me she had never heard of my school (which is in the NESCAC comference) and also told me that it would be important that I be "careful not to overstep" when I detailed my previous work experience.
