First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Housing Opportunities Commission.
HR/Labor Relations Manager
The talent acquisition specialist reached out on LinkedIn and the entire process wrapped up in about 2.5 weeks. I was impressed by the prompt responses from the TA team, who kept me informed throughout.
- I don't recall the exact questions, but I liked that it started with a panel interview and then moved to a one-on-one conversational interview.
Talent Acquisition Specialist
The interview process here at HOC was seamless. I was communicated with clearly from the start regarding the process, panel, and timeline from the TA team. There was always communication of any updates and next steps!
- What made you decide to apply to HOC?
Portfolio Manager
The interview process was challenging mainly because the atmosphere wasn't very welcoming or encouraging. The main supervisor appeared detached and uninterested, almost as if they were reluctant to be there. The primary interviewer came across as arrogant and controlling, tending to challenge rather than engage in a friendly, open, and team-oriented discussion.
- Could you spontaneously provide a written explanation of a specific, complex process?
Meetings and Events Coordinator
I had a really unprofessional interview experience. Right off the bat, they contacted me out of the blue and wanted to talk that same day. They sent an invite, then changed the time without asking me, all on the same day. The actual interview was okay, the questions and conversation were standard. The interviewer said they wanted to move me forward and would be in touch. I waited, and days turned into weeks with no word. When I finally reached out, instead of a real answer, I got automated emails saying I'd hear back soon. This happened twice over a few weeks. It's wild that the HR person wouldn't just communicate directly, especially when they mentioned moving to the next step with a hiring manager.
- What are your salary expectations?
