First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Housekeep.
Software Engineer
The interviewer asked for a lot of details about my previous jobs, focusing on a time I had to debug an issue and my motivation for joining this company. They also asked about my long-term career aspirations.
- Can you introduce yourself and describe a debugging experience?
- What are your future career plans?
Software Engineer
It was a chill and informative chat, where they described what it's like to work there and asked me to introduce myself. The whole vibe was relaxed, so no need to stress.
- Could you share a bit about yourself?
Customer Support
I interviewed here sometime in Jan 2019 and still remember it to this day. The first interview went incredibly well, I finally got invited to the offices where I watched a number of team members do their job (Zendesk support system etc). Manager seemed really nice. I had to do a quick hypothetical scenario which I sort of fumbled out of anxiety but got it done. Then, out of nowhere, the manager became very cold and unwelcome. I don't know what happened or if it was the plan... I don't know. We were talking and then all of a sudden, it's like I said the wrong thing. Started getting questions like "why do you want to work for us?" and following up with "this isn't a job where we train you, you have to know what to do", and "you have to know what you are doing out of the gate". I said it's not a problem as I know their systems but surely that's a bit of a steep requirement for a start up that most people won't recognise. As if it couldn't get any more uncomfortable, they started asking more questions about their company, have I done my research, do I know how much Housekeep turned over in the last year, have I ever used Housekeep, etc.. how strange. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and disappointing interview, I didn't even bother lying or trying to save it, I just said no and left. Horrible company.
- Why do you want to work for us?
- What was our annual turnover?
- Have you used the service?
Customer Operations Advisor
It went okay. First was a 15 minute call with recruitment, the man which I spoke to was professional and friendly they got me to complete a task before you were contacted about the next stage. Next was a half and hour call with one of the managers, they seemed nice however was delving a bit to deep into factors which did not really seem to relate to the job.
- Can you tell me about your favorite aspect of your previous role?
- And what about your least favorite aspect of your last job?
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
