I was automatically rejected after applying and received a generic email stating I wasn't selected for further interviews. It's frustrating when companies don't provide feedback on why an application was rejected. Despite advertising globally, it seems they only consider applicants from English-speaking regions for their Customer Support positions, based on other reviews.

The recruitment process was pretty unique and well-organized. First, I had to answer some questions using short 1-minute videos. Then, I had an interview with a Lead and a team member, which felt more like a conversation and put me at ease. After that, I was invited to collaborate with the team on some tasks for about 3 days of work, which I could do at my own pace over 2 weeks and got compensated for. This stage was a good chance to work with potential future colleagues and learn more about Hotjar. The tasks were challenging and the feedback was helpful. I then presented the work I completed to the Lead and team member from the earlier interview. This was followed by a chat with an Exec team member, which was a relaxed and interesting conversation about working at Hotjar. Finally, I had a call with the Lead for feedback, and then received an offer. The whole process took about 8 weeks, with excellent communication throughout.

I applied for their Customer Support (Remote) role for North America. Given their "Be Bold and Move Fast" initiative at the time, my process might have been unique. It was supposed to have 3 stages: a casual chat, an interview with a senior team member, and a paid 2-week task. I only got to the second interview stage. The first "interview" was a quick 15-minute informal chat with the team lead to get to know me and see why I applied. The next step was an interview with another team member. The questions were different from what I expected, but relevant to the job. I didn't make it past this second stage. Overall, it was a good experience, and they were quick with feedback (within 3 days). Even though it took longer than I thought, it didn't feel like a waste of time. The interview was online via Google Hangouts.
