Market Coordinator
So the interview process kicked off with a quick 15-minute chat with the recruiter, then a 30-minute video call with a Regional Manager. Both chats went great, and I was invited for an onsite interview with some team members. The recruiter mentioned no reimbursement for travel, but since I was close enough, I decided to drive and stay with a friend, because I was really into the job and wanted to meet the team in person ASAP. On the day of the onsite, the recruiter who contacted me was super nice and welcoming. However, on the interview day itself, I found out that instead of meeting 3-4 people, it would just be two people for about an hour, which was a bummer. The two people I met with didn't seem super relevant to the role, which was odd given that my second interview was with someone directly on the team. The first person I met didn't even know the exact position I was applying for, and it felt like they were just filling in last minute. Then, after looking at my resume and hearing about my interest in analytics, they suggested the job might be boring because it's mostly soft skills. This was weird because in my second interview, I was told I'd be using Tableau and analytics was a key part of the role. I left the interview feeling confused about what they were really looking for and a bit misunderstood, since I was getting different vibes between the second and third rounds. A few days later, I got rejected. It was pretty frustrating considering I spent my own time and money on the onsite and didn't really get to meet the actual team members I'd be working with, like the recruiter had said. If I had known, I would've stuck to video calls. The whole experience left me confused; it was a competitive role but I didn't feel like I had a fair shot to show what I could do in the onsite.

Market Coordinator
I found the job on LinkedIn and applied online. The application questions were super relevant and it was the easiest application I've ever done, totally reflecting their tech company vibe. Within 2 days of applying, an HR coordinator named Sam reached out to schedule a quick phone chat about the role and my background. It was really chill, just getting to know why I applied and my experience. Sam was my main contact throughout, which was nice. After our chat went well, she told me she'd send over a written assignment to do in a few days. The assignment involved managing hotel partnerships and thinking about app inventory during market changes, which was a good way to see if I'd like the job. Once they reviewed my work, I moved on. All communication with HR was super fast and clear. Sam then set up a 30-minute call a few days later with someone from the Supply Team to dive deeper into the position and get to know me more. This call was to see if I was a good fit, as Market Coordinators need to be friendly for partner relationships. The person I spoke with was really nice and open about the team and daily tasks. A heads-up: the last step is an in-person visit to the office (you pay for travel), which is fine if you're local. I was excited to meet the whole team and see if I could picture myself there. I had 5 interviews back-to-back, each 30 minutes, in their SF office with different people from the team. After that, I knew I loved the company and was glad I could meet them before deciding. Sam mentioned they could have done a Zoom call to speed things up if I couldn't travel that week, but an in-person visit is a must. I got an offer within a week of meeting the team in person. Sam and I had calls to talk about salary, start date, and benefits. The offer came via Docusign, which was easy to use. Throughout, Sam was a great support, helping me do my best. I could ask any questions I had. Over the month, we had a few last-minute calls to cover anything else or prep for a meeting. The whole process felt natural and they reciprocated my confidence. They don't use trick questions; they really want to hear your story. HT is a fun, young company, so applying wasn't rigid. By the time I got the offer, I knew 100% I'd take it because I understood the company and team well.

Market Coordinator
I interviewed at the end of July-early August and got an offer mid-August. The process started with an initial phone interview with a recruiter, followed by a written assignment, then a call with the regional manager, and finally an on-site interview. It wasn't too tough. I was finishing college on the east coast and the team was really accommodating with my schedule. The HotelTonight recruiters were helpful and prepped me for each stage, so definitely ask them questions. Make sure you research HotelTonight's product really well.
