I got a call from an external HR person, and then I had a 30-minute chat with some actual company employees. They mostly asked me about myself and my current job. They didn't allow me to ask any questions, so I have no clue what their roles were. A few hours later, I got a rejection without any explanation. It felt like a bad work environment.

It was a pretty typical process. First, HR gave me a call to screen me. If I passed that, I had an interview with the hiring manager on a different day. It's a good idea to let HR know your salary expectations if they ask, so nobody wastes time. I said I was flexible, but they didn't ask for a number, so when the hiring manager asked, I think I asked for too much and didn't get the job. Other than that, the phone interviews were really professional.

I applied for the Graphic Designer role and heard back pretty quickly for an initial Zoom interview. During that first call, they asked about my salary expectations, and I let them know my minimum. We talked a bit about my background and previous jobs. After that, I got a small design test, which wasn't too hard or time-consuming. They liked my test results and scheduled a second Zoom interview with someone else. I discussed my experience again, and it went well, leading to a third Zoom call the next day with the whole design team. They asked more detailed questions about my portfolio and how I work. Then, I had a fourth and final Zoom interview with the owner, where we reviewed my qualifications and methods again. Even though all the interviews went smoothly, and I got an offer, it was for less than my initial salary request. I made a counter-offer, but after a week of no response, they turned it down and hired someone else. It felt like a lot of interviews and a test for a role they might not have been able to meet my salary needs for from the start. The people were nice, but the interview process was quite long.

I applied for the Marketing associate job and got an email the next day from the CEO asking me to interview. They said my skills were better suited for another department, which was confusing but I agreed to interview. During the interview, I didn't know the answer to the company question and felt like they were talking down to me. The CEO answered some of my questions well, but their answers about work/life balance raised some concerns. I was scheduled for another interview, but after reading reviews and thinking about how I felt, I decided to decline the offer.
