The interview process was a positive experience overall. The hotel manager interviewed me and clearly explained the responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant role, being very supportive during the conversation. The interview process was quite chaotic. There was a lot of construction happening at the hotel, and I wasn't given any information about parking or how to get in. When I got there, they said valet was free for interviews, but I never got that message. They mentioned that guests frequently complain about the construction and that the front desk staff are expected to deal with unhoused individuals on their own, without security. The pay was $16/hr, but monthly parking is $80. After the interview, I got a text saying I didn't have the necessary experience, even though I have 7 years in hospitality. A week later, they called to see if I was still interested. When I brought up the rejection text, they suggested it might have been a mistake or a system glitch. The whole experience felt really inconsistent and poorly handled.

We had a casual initial conversation with the hiring manager to discuss your background. The main thing they wanted to know was your availability for different shifts. After that, there was a brief trial shift, followed by another informal chat with both the manager and the hotel manager.

it was very simple, they asked about my previous work experience and family background. The interview itself took about 10 mins. They want me to describe a time when i had to help an unhappy customer. They said they will call back for second interviews next week. The hotel in Naperville did not open up yet but is going to be an amazing project with a sushi bar and a lot of other interesting and unique things.
