The hiring experience was amazing, the best I've had. My resume got in through a referral. The HR recruiter got in touch fast and we set up an initial phone screen. Right after that, I had an on-site interview with the hiring manager and got an offer the very next day. I really liked how the recruiting team kept me in the loop; I never had to chase them for updates. The questions asked were really direct and fit the job well. Both the recruiters and the hiring manager wanted to get to know me better, see if my skills matched the job, check if I'd be a good cultural fit, and answer any questions I had.

My profile was picked up by the Hortonworks recruiting team. I interviewed for a Software Security Engineer role. We had three technical interviews via Skype, one with a Staff Engineer in Bangalore, and then with a Senior Manager and Director in the US. Following that, I had an on-premise interview with a PMC member. The recruiter did a good job planning the interviews and was helpful throughout. The whole thing wrapped up in about two weeks from the first call to getting the offer.

They had 3 face-to-face rounds. The first round, I implemented the LRU cache. Then, the second round focused on primary and secondary nodes and the split brain problem, followed by implementing a hash table and an ordered hash map. The third round was an 'architect round,' but it felt like a formality as they moved through it quickly, almost as if they'd already decided against me based on the earlier rounds.
