First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Horrocks.
Engineer
The interviewers were really thorough and also very personable. They seem really committed to making sure that the company and the employee are a good match, which I think is great for retention. Overall, a great process.
- Can you elaborate on your knowledge questions?
- What are your aspirations?
Project Engineer
First, a recruiter called me. Then I had one in-person interview. Finally, I got a job offer in the mail.
- Can you review your past projects?
- What skills do you have?
Helpdesk
I had a really nice interview for a Helpdesk position, though it was challenging. It was my first IT role, so I was pretty new. It started with a quick Zoom call that went well, leading to an in-person interview and a practical test. About five other people interviewed me, asking a lot of questions about my personality, technical skills, and previous work. They were all friendly, and I think I did great. The main interviewer even said he liked my answers. Then we moved to a practical simulation where an employee had computer problems. I didn't do well, I froze up. When he told me I didn't get the job, he also gave me some great, friendly advice and mentorship, which was unexpected and awesome. The company seems like a fantastic place to work with a great culture. I was really impressed and enjoyed the whole process. It was my own fault I didn't get the job, but it was a valuable learning experience. I actually got another IT job shortly after thanks to the interviewer's guidance. If he sees this from the Pleasant Grove office, thank you, that advice really set me on a good path.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain why you're changing careers?
- If the internet isn't working, what could be the reason?
Administrative Assistant
Got a call for an interview, showed up for it. They weren't able to meet the salary I asked for. I answered some questions over the phone, then they scheduled an interview, but when I went to the interview, they told me they couldn't meet my salary.
