Software Engineer
The interview experience was okay, but I'm disappointed there was no follow-up communication afterwards. It's a letdown when companies don't update candidates on their status, especially after they've invested time in interviewing. Better communication would definitely make the process better for candidates.
- Can you share details about your professional experience?
- What are your key technical proficiencies?
- Walk me through your project history and involvement.
Product Manager
I had a virtual interview for a Senior Product Manager role at Horizontal. It was with an automated virtual recruiter. Just a heads up, the system moves on as soon as you start talking, so have your answers ready and be quick, no pauses. You can't ask anything back or change your answers after it moves. The questions were about measurement models, analytics tools, how to analyze data, and using those insights to make business decisions.
- Can you share an instance where you created an analytics solution to address a business challenge?
- Describe a situation where you had to develop an analytics solution to solve a business problem.
- Tell me about developing an analytics solution for a business problem.
Salesforce Consultant
So, it was like this on-campus thing, right? First, there was this aptitude test. After that, I had a technical interview, which was pretty deep, and they also had some written coding tests. Then came the HR interview, where they hit me with some scenarios, logic puzzles, and analytical questions. The whole thing was pretty smooth, went off without a hitch.
- How would you get exactly 4L of water using 3L, 5L, and 8L jugs, given no markings and the constraint that you can't discard water once poured?
AI Engineer
I had a really bad time with Horizontal. I think they got new tech but are using it badly. After I put my info in, an AI bot, not a recruiter, asked me tons of questions about my resume that it could have just read. It felt like an interrogation, not a job interview. It wasted my time for 30 mins, and the info just went to an automated system. No real people talked to me. I don't get why they think this is smart AI. If they use bots, they need to talk to people too. This shows no empathy. It's like HR doesn't care and just uses automation. If you care about your time and want to be treated like a person, not just data, stay away from Horizontal.
