Behavioral Presentation

I went through 5 interviews for the Senior BDR role, and it was a fast process. The first interview was with the hiring manager, a young guy who seemed a bit immature, starting by complaining emotionally about a former employee not promoting him. He was a nice guy though. The next two interviews had hosts who were over 10 minutes late, which wasn't very professional. The final stage was a team lunch. The next day, I was told they thought I was shy and not outgoing, which I found to be a lazy and laughable reason, especially since it's the opposite of who I am. It seems like their decision-making is flawed if a 45-minute lunch observation from a peer can outweigh a successful role-play and a senior manager's approval. My take is that this team culture values the 'loudest in the room' over the 'best at the job.' The only positive part of the process was the recruiter, who was thorough and responsive, doing her part well.

Behavioral Technical Other

This recruitment was really confusing and unorganized. The recruiter didn't even know basic things like how many interviews there would be or the salary. After each interview, I had to keep asking the HR team for feedback because they wouldn't reply to my emails. After three interviews, including ones with the CS Director and Sales Manager, they told me the next step was a task, and then the recruiter just disappeared. I tried to reach out, but no one responded. The CS Director messaged me on LinkedIn to say they hired someone else. It was a mess, really disorganized and no one communicated. I had to keep asking for updates, and the final message was really abrupt and not even from HR.

So first there was an intro call with the recruiter, it got scheduled 2+ weeks out cause the team was on-site, but they communicated well. Then there was a 60 min 1:1 with the Hiring Manager. About 30 mins of that was a live server and container debugging session using some 3rd party software with exercises they had prepared. After that, a 1h45m Panel interview with 3 or 4 members of the Hiring team. This part focused on team structures, our working philosophies, and past projects. Then a 30m Culture interview with the Director. Finally, a 30m interview with the Hiring manager again.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The first couple interviews were pretty chill, they just wanted to vibe with me and understand my usual workflow, how I drum up business, and my typical win rate. Then I got to the final stage where I had to do a mock sales call with both the Sales Manager and the Sales Director. I thought I crushed it, but then one of them went hard on me, saying I never asked the client why they were on the call or what their issues were. The wild part is, that was the VERY first thing I asked! They got stuck on that and wouldn't let me explain. The whole rest of my interview got derailed because of their misinterpretation.
