The interview questions will change depending on the specific job you are applying for and the hiring manager you talk to. Most of the time, interviews will start with some general questions to get to know you, then move into questions about situations or your past behavior, and finish with time for you to ask questions or wrap things up.
- Could you share details about your educational background and professional history?
- Can you give an example of a situation when…
- What would be your approach to handling…?
Health Promotion Specialist
So, there were 2 parts to the interview. The first interview was to see how I solve problems. The second interview involved a presentation and storytelling to check my overall leadership and communication skills.
- Can you introduce yourself and discuss your aspirations for tackling community challenges?
Registered Nurse
The ER interview process was really thorough. If you've got RN experience, definitely get ready to talk about how you handle delegation and decide who to see first. Make sure you know what tasks you can hand off to other healthcare pros like LPNs and PSWs.
- Regarding delegation to LPNs and PSWs, who do you assign to them, and who do you prioritize seeing yourself?
- Could you explain your process for prioritizing patients in a triage scenario?
Clinical Social Worker
So I saw this opening and applied, you can apply to as many as you want right. The first part was online, filling out some forms. Then, senior clinicians and the manager screened it. If successful, they set up an interview. It was a competency-based interview with a panel of senior clinicians. They let me know online if I got the job based on merit.
- Can you provide an example from your professional practice where you applied competency X?
- Can you give an example from your professional practice that demonstrates competency Y?
