Collections Representative
The communication was great and I got both interviews quickly. Everyone was super nice and easy to chat with. Turns out the job wasn't quite what I thought it would be. HR was nice and helpful, and so were the managers of the department.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What makes you want to work for this company?
- Why are you interested in this particular role?
Finance Manager
The interview process was quite something. The initial stage involved a meeting with the VP and HR, where standard questions were asked and answered. The subsequent stage was the challenging part. They required the preparation and presentation of a project. I completed the project and presented it. Despite receiving excellent feedback from HR, the position was ultimately filled by an internal candidate. It appears the company intended to hire internally from the start, yet they proceeded with advancing me to the final round, collecting my ideas, and then rejected me. It's frustrating when companies waste candidates' time, especially after HR expressed positive sentiments, only to hire internally. If an internal hire is already decided, there's no need to subject external candidates to this process.
- Could you please complete this project and submit it?
Manager
The interview process was great and I enjoyed talking to everyone, including the HR person. They advanced me to the final interview stage, but it turned out they had internal candidates they intended to hire, which felt like a waste of my time. They asked me to prepare something for the final interview, implying they wanted my ideas before hiring internally. While internal hiring is fine, it's frustrating to be led to a final interview when an internal hire is already planned. They know their internal hiring plan before the interviews even start. It was a good process overall, ending with 'you were a great interview but we went internal.' A few hours of my time were wasted.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
Teller
I had a phone interview with HR first, asking basic stuff like how I found out about the job and if I had banking experience. Then, the manager called me for an in-person interview. It was two interviews with the manager and assistant manager, and then the general manager joined for the second one. About 5 days later, I got an offer letter and had to do some paperwork, including a credit report explanation. Once that was done, I was hired! The training was really good, two weeks in the classroom and two weeks in the branch.
- How would you deal with a difficult customer?
