Market Director
I went through a multi-stage interview process for a Director-level role that took about three months and included several talks with leadership plus a detailed case study presentation. The team I met was thoughtful, engaged, and clearly passionate about their work in value-based care. Given my background and the role's scope, the opportunity felt like a strong match, with only a few minor things to learn. I liked getting to walk through a thorough case study and discuss real operational challenges with the team. About a month after my final presentation, I was told I wasn't moving forward. After building a good connection with the recruiter during the process, I followed up to understand the decision and how to improve for future chances, but didn't hear back. Overall, I thought positively of the team and the company, but the candidate experience could be better with more timely communication and feedback, especially for candidates who spend a lot of time on later-stage interviews. Advice for management: For roles needing multiple rounds and case study presentations, giving clearer timelines and feedback would really improve the candidate experience.
- Can you describe a performance improvement initiative you led, including the problem, your approach, and the outcomes?
- How do you get different stakeholders, like providers and partners, on the same page to achieve better results?
- In what ways do you use data and analytics to pinpoint problems and boost performance?
Chief Information Security Officer
I had a phone interview with the recruiter, then a video interview with the CIO. I quickly realized from my past experiences where security was an afterthought that I'm hesitant to move forward with this role. A strong security program needs buy-in and support from the top, especially the CIO. It seems like that's missing here.
- Have you worked in the healthcare industry previously?
Nurse Care Manager
It was a remote and structured interview process with two main stages. They asked basic questions about my education, work experience, and some scenarios. They wanted to gauge my understanding of Medicare, primary care, value-based care, and startup culture. Overall, it wasn't too challenging.
- What do you know about value-based care?
- Tell me about your education and work background.
- How would you handle these specific scenarios?
Registered Nurse
Standard interview process - recruiter screen, manager interview, and then a panel interview. Everyone was new, with less than a year of experience because it's a startup. The recruiter talked a lot about the company and was happy to answer questions and help with scheduling. They were upfront about the need for flexibility and the challenges they face. They required an NDA just to interview, which was a bit strange but okay. There was also a weird IQ-like test, mostly with patterns and lines.
- Are you able to switch gears when needed?
- Do you have flexibility?
