First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HomeSmart International.
Coordinator
The team was communicative and straightforward. I always knew what was next because the process was clear. HR and the organization were very organized. Overall, it was very smooth, and I enjoyed talking to everyone I interviewed with.
- What are your long-term goals and growth aspirations?
Realtor
I met with the new agent recruiter alone in a conference room. It was a very relaxed conversation about why I was interested in this role, my future plans, and my background. It felt more like a genuine chat rather than a standard interview asking about weaknesses or a typical sales pitch about the company. I enjoyed this interview the most out of all the agencies I spoke with, which is why I decided to go with HomeSmart.
- What motivated you to pursue a career in real estate?
Art Director
I first applied and connected with an external recruiter, who then set me up with their internal recruiter. We had a brief call where I got a feel for their company culture and the role. Things moved fast, and I had a quick Zoom interview with their VP of marketing. He asked some high-level questions to understand my background and how I collaborate. Next, I had an in-person interview at their office with a director and the person I'd be replacing. The questions were pretty straightforward, a mix of standard and role-specific ones. They seemed friendly and mentioned how busy their team can get and that they prefer to keep it lean. It was a bit of a letdown waiting about two weeks for feedback after how quickly they handled the earlier stages.
- Could you share a project you're particularly proud of and explain your reasons?
- Describe your approach to teamwork and managing projects within a team environment.
Senior .NET Developer
I applied for a Senior Developer position and had a total of three interviews. The first was with the HR recruiter, the second involved technical questions with the team, and third discussed my background and culture fit with executive leadership. In between the second and third interview, there was a personality test. Overall, the process was straightforward, with technical questions as well as culture fit. I also asked specific questions to better understand what they were looking for.
- What would someone say is one of your strengths? What would you say is one of your weaknesses?
