It was smooth and relatively easy. The questions were few. Honestly, this is all a lie. They are just forcing me to fill this to get information. So I guess I have to type something. This company isn’t even in Ghana.

The process started with a screener call, which went okay. They asked standard recruiter questions about salary expectations and my experience, and shared the company's job description. Then came the onsite interview, organized via email. They initially shared the list of interviewers, but upon arrival, they changed the schedule and the people I would be interviewing with, adding individuals I hadn't prepared for. The CEO joined and seemed disengaged, scrolling on his computer while I discussed a project. A significant issue was the whiteboard challenge, where I was asked to increase conversion rates on one of their own pages, which felt like asking me to do free work. The hiring manager rushed through my questions at the end and quickly escorted me out. I never received feedback. Interestingly, months later, the recruiter from HomeShare contacted me again about a design role. I declined due to their disorganization, perceived lack of design culture, and the overall negative experience.

I was contacted by Homeshare from an automated email by their CEO, which I noticed because it had a placeholder for my last name. I replied expressing my interest, and we scheduled a phone call for the next week. The phone conversation was brief, focusing on my work history and leadership style. I was told I'd hear back by the following Monday at the latest, but I didn't receive any communication for another 10 days, despite multiple follow-ups. The only feedback I got was that they hired someone else, which felt off, especially since they initiated the contact. It seems like they could use someone in HR to manage interviews better and avoid setting false expectations. The company's concept is interesting, but this experience was a significant deterrent.

Applied online, then had a phone interview. The recruiter was super unenthusiastic and just peppered me with question after question, no real conversation, just Q&A. When I asked her anything, she'd give a one-sentence answer. She mentioned an online test would come after the call, but I never got it. I emailed her, and she replied that due to a huge applicant pool, they weren't moving forward with my application. Seriously? Why mention the test then? To top it off, she hung up before I could even finish saying "thank you." Your recruiters need training. Basic courtesy makes a big difference.
