The interview process was engaging, thought-provoking, and thorough. HomeLight ran a great interview process that included 3 screeners, a case portfolio, and an "on-site" virtual interview. The questions were fair yet never overly formal. I enjoyed meeting the entire team, and the process illustrated HomeLight vision, people, and culture.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

The interview process was well structured. General phone interview with recruiter, followed by a phone interview with the head of product. Then, there was a first round of zoom interviews with various folks on the product team where they asked culture fit questions, technical/process questions, and strategy/business questions. The second round of zoom interviews was with the leadership team, mostly focused on strategy and product mindset.

Technical Other

This was a weird interview. The first talk was good, but then the hiring manager emailed me about working asynchronously. They didn't want to talk about it, not even on the phone. Instead of a normal case study or product sense take-home, the question was about the Homelight experience itself. There wasn't an NDA, and it felt like they wanted candidates to suggest solutions for their current organizational or product issues. I've never encountered anything like it before.
