First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Home Team Pest Defense.
Customer Service Representative
It was pretty simple and standard, asking some core questions about my values, about 5 questions about my past work experience, my future goals, and what I'm interested in.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself being?
Pest Control Technician
They asked some basic questions about my experience with pests. Also asked why I'm looking for a job, and about my driving record and if I have any moving violations. Finally, asked if I have customer service experience.
- Do you have experience with pest control?
Sales Representative
First, you'll have a phone interview with the department manager. It's a one-on-one conversation. You'll also get an email with a separate application and a link to complete an assessment, like a personality type test. After that, there's a panel interview and a ride-along. The panel interview is the toughest part. It includes all the branch managers (customer service, sales, and service) and the GM. They'll question you about the jobs on your resume – what you did, what you learned, how you handled certain situations, and how you distinguished yourself. The focus is on team dynamics.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join HomeTeam?
- Can you identify areas where the workplace could be improved?
- Describe your approach to managing challenging customer interactions.
Master Technician
The interview process was really disorganized and seemed to be based on personal preference or superficial qualifications. Management offered no real support, and the training provided was barely adequate, a total waste of resources. They also weren't truthful about the potential for advancement to a service manager role.
- What motivates your interest in becoming a Master Technician?
- What are your aspirations and what do you aim to achieve in this role?
