First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Home Partners of America.
Closings Coordinator
The interview process was short and direct. It was conducted over Zoom and was professional. There were two interviews in total. The first was with the direct manager and the second one was with the Director of Closings.
- Tell me about your real estate experience.
Operations
First, there was a 10-15 minute call with the recruiter. Then, a timed Excel test involving pivot tables and data analysis. The last step was an interview with the hiring manager and another interview with the director.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe a difficult situation you faced and how you handled it.
- How have you resolved conflicts in the past?
Business Analyst
I had a phone screen and then a panel interview, but I didn't actually do the panel one. They explained the day-to-day tasks for the role really confusingly. It was honestly the worst interview experience I've had from the company's side. It felt like they were actually looking for a software developer rather than an analyst, which made the job listing seem inaccurate.
- Can you tell me about a past project you worked on?
Partner
I had a phone screen and then the 1st interview was set up on zoom. They told me at the beginning there was a hard stop at the top of the hour, which gave us only about 29 minutes. There was small talk which I thought was fine but not when you have a hard cut off. I feel like I didn't get a chance to truly cover my experience. I didn't get moved to the 2nd interview because they said others more closely matched. I feel like if I had more time and wasn't pressured at the end, they would have seen that I was worthy of a 2nd interview. With three minutes left I was able to ask questions about the position.
- Could you walk me through your background and experience?
- Describe a situation where you successfully deescalated a conflict or tense situation.
