First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Home Market Foods.
Manager
First, a recruiter called to talk about the job. After that, virtual meetings were set up. Then there were lots of interviews, some in person, some online, and some over the phone. About 6 or 7 people in total. It took about 7 to 8 hours for all of them.
- Can you share an instance where you faced challenges with an employee and describe how you resolved it?
QA/QC Supervisor
It was really long, like 8 rounds. They were trying a new way to hire people. A company should be smart and review their hiring process and get rid of things that don't make sense. It was a total waste of my time.
- Tell me about yourself and your experience (common behavioral questions).
- Can you describe your experience with QA/QC tasks?
- How would you approach a new product launch from a QA/QC perspective? (entrepreneurship)
IT
The interview process had 3 rounds. First was a phone screening with the employment manager. Then there were 2 in-person interviews. The first was with the Global IT manager. The second was with a panel of 5 people (2 system admins, 2 IT specialists, and 1 business manager). The business manager was really tricky, so be prepared to answer questions like you're dealing with a difficult user, which might be why I didn't get the offer. The people seemed friendly though, and the culture felt pretty laid-back. Management wore collared shirts and dress pants, while the IT folks wore jeans and collared shirts. They expect about $17-18/hour.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- What's your biggest weakness, and what steps do you take to manage it?
- As a stubborn user, can you persuade me to choose a user-specific solution that takes 10 days over a vendor solution that can be implemented in just 1 day?
Vendor Assurance Manager
After applying online, I got an email to set up a phone interview. It was scheduled quickly. The phone interview wasn't too long, though the interviewer was a bit late. That's pretty much it for this part.
- What makes you want to join Home Market Foods?
- Could you share your thoughts on our product line?
- Are you familiar with the products that we manufacture?
