They pick who they want. It's not hard, just don't act strange. They have lost some of their appeal lately so you should be okay if you don't fit the typical profile. I don't know if I can trust this site.
- What was the question?

I heard that Hollister was always hiring so I decided to walk in and ask if I can apply for the job. The manager gave me an application info card so that I can use it to apply online. He told me there were always group interviews on tuesdays and fridays. I scheduled my interview on a tuesday. I arrived 10 minutes early, met a manager in training, signed a log sheet, and she then told me to wait in the lobby with the rest of the interviewee's - two other girls. While we all waited to be interviewed, I tried to start the conversation because I heard that the managers usually hire people who were sociable. Once the manager showed up, she asked us to follow her to the front of the store since there wasn't an "actual place to interview people". She asked us about 5 simple questions and said then said we would be contacted within a week if they wanted to hire us. I think I did pretty well since I did some research on the questions Hollister asked in previous interviews. I would say the overall interview experience was pretty laid back and that's saying a lot since I was really nervous going in.

- In your opinion, what is Hollister's style and how does it stand out from other retailers?

I went into a Hollister store and asked if they were hiring. They gave me a link and passcode to fill out an online application, which was pretty standard and took about 10 minutes. I also picked my interview date on the application, and it was for the next day! I got there 5 minutes early for my interview and they had me wait with another girl who was also interviewing. After about 20 minutes, the manager came out and said the interview would be held just outside the store in the mall because it was too noisy inside. It was a group interview with one other girl, and it felt pretty scripted. The manager asked us some questions like introducing ourselves and why we wanted to work there, what diversity means, and what we could contribute to the store. After the interview, I sent a Thank You card. A week later, I followed up and found out I didn't get the Model position because all the spots were filled, but they offered me an Impact position, which I took since no further interviews were required and it sounded fun!
