Hoffman Corporation Interview Questions
& Process

It was a very short and quick interview process. They asked basic questions about my experience related to the position. I had one interview with the hiring team and one with the recruiter before that. Afterward, I was informed they wanted to extend an offer. The whole process felt rushed, and I got the impression they were desperate to hire someone, which seemed a bit concerning.

Hoffman Construction said the job was in Portland, but when I applied, an HR employee emailed me with times for a phone interview. I replied with my availability for the next day. When she didn't write back, I emailed her again saying I was still interested. She then called me and said the job was actually located in Ronler Acres. I told her that Ronler Acres is in Hillsboro, not Portland. I asked her why she listed the job in Portland if it was really in Hillsboro. She got really mad and said Hoffman Construction was no longer interested in interviewing me for the job and ended the call.

This was the most unprofessional interview I've ever experienced. The interviewer was late, yawned constantly and obnoxiously throughout my interview, and was slouched over without making eye contact, appearing extremely bored and disengaged. I almost pointed it out due to how rude it was, but I continued. To top it off, they didn't validate parking, costing me $12 because I waited so long for the late interviewer. It felt like a complete waste of my time and money for a company that lacked the basic decency to at least pretend to be interested, unlike me. I realized then it probably wasn't the right job for me, though you wouldn't know that from my professional conduct. This interviewer, however, didn't give me a real chance and seemed to have decided against hiring me before I even sat down. I consider it a fortunate outcome that I didn't get the job, because if this is how they treat potential employees, I can only imagine how they treat current ones.

I had one interview with a mid level manager. I was already familiar with Hoffman Corp and the manager I interviewed with. My role working for the A&E on their project meant I was invested in making sure the Hoffman Superintendents/Sub Superintendents had what they needed to keep things moving. The interview process was quick, but they had already decided to hire me.
