Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HNTB.
Transportation Engineer
I had a casual chat with the project lead and some senior engineers. They asked mostly about my past projects from my resume and why I'm interested in this role. Overall, it was a nice experience.
- How do you see yourself fitting into this role?
- Can you explain your past project experience?
- What motivates your interest in this position?
Transportation Engineer
For the HNTB interview, I had two rounds. The first round was pretty basic, focusing on my resume and expertise. They picked individual projects from my resume and asked about my specific contributions. The second round was a tough technical interview. They presented a questionnaire, and I had to answer each question within a set time. The first interview lasted 30 minutes, and the second was an hour.
- In the technical interview, they provided a questionnaire and asked for answers to each question within a time limit.
Transportation Engineer
HNTB's hiring process was quite organized. First, an HR Rep calls to get your info and have you complete a questionnaire. They then schedule an interview based on your availability. Once a time is set, they'll email you the details, time, and address. The interview itself was pretty straightforward, focusing on the qualifications they listed for the job.
- What are your future goals?
- Do you see yourself working in transportation long-term?
