The interview process took way too long, over 3 hours in total across several rounds. It was pretty draining and not very efficient. The interviews themselves weren't that tough though, and I ended up getting a pretty average job offer in the end.

Applied online for an analyst role, but HR suggested a specific Business Analyst position, so I applied for that. Got asked to do a recorded phone interview the next day where I had limited time to respond to questions, which the hiring manager could review later. Then there was silence/excuses from HR for two months. Eventually got an interview at their HQ. Upon arrival, I had to take a 15-minute skills test covering basic math, proofreading, and logic. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager and their boss. I felt the interview went very well, as I had the required experience, used personal stories to answer questions, asked thoughtful questions, demonstrated I'd done my research without being overbearing, and built rapport. We finished positively, and they said I'd hear back in two weeks. I sent thank you notes via email and physically, and followed up with HR every two weeks, but only received non-committal responses. After 30 days, I got a standard rejection, suggesting they might have been negotiating with their preferred candidates and kept me as a backup. Despite being qualified and performing well, they chose someone else. The long wait times for the interview scheduling and decision-making, along with the lack of communication when I followed up, were frustrating.

I applied for HMSA and the whole process took over 3 months. I was highly qualified for this position, so I called HR twice to check on my application status. They were unhelpful with providing a timeframe or update. After two months of waiting, I surprisingly got a call from HR. The HR admin told me the soonest I could interview was three weeks out because one of the managers was on vacation. This was followed by another month of waiting for a response post-interview, making it a total of four months wasted. The poor treatment and priority during the interview process made me decide against accepting the offer.

Behavioral Technical

Applying for HMSA would be ideal if you currently hold a job and looking to transition into something else. For me the process is fairly long. I applied online. It took about almost 2 weeks before I got a call from HR to set up an interview appointment a week after the initial call. Prior to getting my interview, I had to complete 3 tests online as well. When I had my first initial interview. It was with a supervisor and it lasted about 45 minutes. It consisted of a lot of behavioral and situational questions and questions related to previous work experience. It was very casual. She informed me that she would contact me to follow up. Little did I know I got a 2nd call back to do a 2nd interview 1 week later. My 2nd interview was scheduled within 2 weeks and this time it was with 2 of the managers. How intimidating can that be. When the time came I talked with both managers and they previously asked the same questions from the first interview but in a different format. They were very detailed regarding the position which can be very overwhelming to take in. The interview lasted for an hour. All I have to do is wait for a decision they made. Overall as you can see, the process is lengthy. Have patience. If you get the job, great! If not... take it as a learning experience for the next job you apply for.
