Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HMG Plus.
Server Bartender
After applying online, there was an in-person screening. You wait in the lobby with other people who really want to work as a bartender. The staff is graceful, courteous, smiling, and kind throughout the process. They make candidates take a knowledge test that seems impossible to pass unless you've already done this specific job. The questions on their test aren't even things Google can find. The girls there act like it's a popularity contest and don't care about work ethic, skills, or abilities.
- Can you name the three Ps of His Hospitality?
Server Bartender
Met with someone first, then they invited me to a really helpful onboarding training. It covered how to set things up, what we're expected to do service-wise, how to present ourselves, good service habits, closing down the place, and clocking in and out.
- What do you like about working in the service industry?
Service Professional
I applied through backstage.com and then went to their offices for an interview. Millie interviewed me and was really genuine, answering all my questions clearly and professionally. The office space was very clean, organized, and welcoming!
- What is your years of experience in the hospitality industry?
Server/Bartender
I went to an Open Call and they set up another interview for me that same week! The process was simple, the recruiter explained things well, and the training I got during onboarding was super helpful for the work events I attended.
- Do you feel comfortable working in corporate, business-professional settings?
