First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HMC.
Doctor
after applying online, they sent an invitation email. After I replied with confirmation, it was a general Q&A about the hospital's ACGME accreditation and my responsibilities. Then I had to explain a medical situation and they observed my response.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
- Can you describe your responsibilities?
- Describe a medical scenario and your approach to it.
Clinical Pharmacist
it was pretty easy. the interviewer mostly asked about my past experience. wanted to know how I did consultations. Didn't ask me any clinical questions or give me any scenario based interview questions. Just wanted to know how I manage my time etc.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Could you describe your level of experience with managing chronic diseases?
Research Assistant
This interview covered my technical and educational experience. It was pretty laid back and didn't take too long. They asked about my future career goals and what I could bring to the company. They also tested my memory of basic lab experience.
- Could you explain the process of PCR?
- What's your experience with lab techniques like PCR?
- Can you describe your academic background and how it relates to this role?
Mechanical Designer
The owner, Peter Taylor, asked a few questions about my abilities. Instead he asked things like, "Do you own a smart phone?" and talked about the poor work ethic of younger employees. When I got the job I couldn't help but feel like I was picked randomly, since he showed little interest in my qualifications.
- Do you own a smart phone?
