I had a phone interview, then met with the recruiter, followed by a meeting with the VP, and finally met with the QA Lead. Everyone I interacted with at HMB, including the recruiter, administrative assistant, VP, and QA Lead, was very professional and polite. I really enjoyed talking with everyone, and the QA Lead, Jared, conducted the interview exceptionally well. He asked good questions, was very polite, and explained what kind of questions he was going to ask. He made eye contact and didn't seem to be reading from a script.

Behavioral Technical Group

The interview process at HMB can be pretty long depending on the job. For technical roles, there's a "tech spec" where they talk about your tech skills. It seems like they're just figuring out where you fit and what training you might need. Non-tech roles are a bit different. First, you chat with a recruiter to learn about the company and see if you want to continue. Then, you might have a phone or in-person interview with a team leader or manager to go over your skills and the business. The last step is an in-person interview at HMB HQ in Westerville, OH, which can be over 6 hours. You'll meet with different executives to talk about your background and experience. My interview even included a lunch with sales team members, even though I wasn't applying for sales. HMB really cares about culture fit, which is why the process can be so long. They ask all sorts of questions, from specific skills to casual chat, but it's always professional. It was a good experience overall, but it took a long time to move between stages and even longer for an offer, which did come after 4+ weeks and a three-month wait. They were pretty good at communicating though.

The interview wasn't too tough. First, I talked to an Associate for technical skills, then I spoke with the Developer Director of practice about behavioral stuff. Finally, I had an interview with the Director of Practice (BA). The interviewers were all pretty nice, and I enjoyed discussing technical terms with them.
