Process Engineer
The interview process will be in the STAR format. You'll be asked for detailed examples of your past experiences. After each answer, the panel will ask follow-up questions to dive deeper into your thought process, technical approach, and decision-making. You'll also get a chance at the end to ask your own questions about the role, what's expected of you, and the general work environment.
- Can you share an instance where you went beyond your regular duties to help out on a project or fix a problem on the manufacturing floor, detailing the situation, your actions, and the outcome using the STAR method?
Staff Accountant
The first interview was a super casual phone call where they asked about my past experience. It went well, so they brought me on-site for a second interview. The interviewer seemed really interested and hinted that an offer was coming. They were upfront about trying to hire both a manager and a staff accountant simultaneously. I was told that after the manager was hired, I'd have a final interview with them. Weeks passed, and they kept telling me to wait for the new manager, but there were constant delays and excuses for not extending an offer. After five weeks of waiting, they decided they didn't need a staff accountant after all and that the manager would be sufficient. It was an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience. It doesn't make sense why they'd interview for a staff position before hiring the manager if the manager role needed to be filled first.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Intern
The interview was in-person. I arrived 15 minutes early and was seen after another 15 minutes in the conference room. The interview went well, but the 'Project Engineering' role wasn't about creating or overseeing projects, only managing them. I agreed with the hiring manager, their assistant, and another manager representative. Despite this, I wasn't hired and didn't get any feedback. I followed up a few days ago and still haven't heard back.

R2R Manager
The interview process started with a phone screening, followed by an online interview. This online interview was quite unstructured. The job post had very little information about the role, just general sentences about responsibilities, not what kind of employee they were looking for. I was invited for an interview to manage an accounting team, despite not mentioning any expertise in accounting, as my background is in business administration and master data. During the interview, three people interviewed me, and none introduced the company, the role, or the responsibilities. I joined the call, was asked to describe my experience, and then faced technical questions about solving accounting problems, even though I clearly stated I only had academic knowledge and no practical experience in the field. I've never had such a bad interview in my nearly 20 years of work. It seems Astemo HR's capabilities are questionable, explaining why they received only 30+ applications in over 2 months. It's surprising that a team of three, who should know how to interview, couldn't conduct a proper one. After the call, I emailed the recruiter to withdraw my application.
- Given that we use accounting software, how would you advise resolving an error found on the quarterly balance by a team member?
