First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HIMSS.
Customer Success Manager
The recruiter from talent acquisition reached out and we set up a phone interview pretty fast. It was like an hour long, basically the first phone screen. They asked typical interview questions and it was pretty chill. They really care about media experience, which I don't have.

Attorney
So, I had two rounds back in 2022, but then things just stopped, apparently they put the role on hold. Fast forward to 2023, they reached out again and restarted the process. I did three more interviews, and they mentioned they'd have a meeting to pick between the final two candidates on a specific day. But, I heard absolutely nothing after that, and it's been six weeks now. I've emailed and called a couple of times with no reply to anything. Really unprofessional.
- Can you elaborate on your experience pertaining to each line item of the job description?
New Media Producer
I got a first call that just asked about my past salary. After I told them, the hiring manager mentioned it was higher than their budget, but suggested we meet to see if we could come to an agreement. They had me complete a long application and then come in for an in-person interview within a week. The interview itself was pretty straightforward, asking about my preferred management style and digging into the technical aspects of my resume. I sent thank you notes afterward and didn't hear anything back. I followed up via email with my contact after two weeks, and got a rejection almost instantly from an automated email from a recruiter I hadn't even spoken to. It was a really bad experience for candidates. I feel like my time was wasted because there should have been a phone interview first, and companies really need to follow up after interviews.

Product Manager
As some other reviews have said, this interview process was unnecessarily long. A third-party recruiter reached out first and conducted a long phone screen, and then sent over several questions for me to type out for the company. Round 2 was supposed to be with the company's hiring team, but they were late and missed the first half of the call. They finally joined, but we only had 15 minutes left and they had a hard stop. Instead of rescheduling, they tried to cram everything into the remaining time. They spent most of the time explaining the company, and I only got about 5 minutes to answer questions. Surprisingly, I made it to Round 3. This round was with someone from Marketing who seemed unimpressed from the start. They elaborated on the job and I finally understood which product the role was for. It was clear from the conversation that they needed someone urgently, with their entire onboarding planned for just 3 days before a major launch. The call was challenging because I wasn't sure what product work to prepare for. After Round 3, there was a long silence, and then a recruiter informed me they were putting my application on hold. It felt like a lot of effort for an application process that could have been more efficient with better information upfront.
