& Process

I applied online and got a call from a recruiter, but they seemed confused and thought I'd spoken to someone else already, which was odd. It was pretty disorganized with multiple recruiters reaching out, and no one seemed to know who the point person was. Eventually, I had an interview with a peer and the hiring manager, and it felt like it went pretty well. Then, about two days later, they really pushed for me to meet with the VP the very next day. I had to make a lot of adjustments to my schedule to make it happen. That interview also seemed positive, but a few days after that, I got a generic rejection email. It felt a bit impersonal given how far I got.

About a week after applying online, I got a call for an interview. I met with the Operations Manager in a conference room. She talked about the company's recent achievements and was more interested in how adaptable I was and the variety in my background instead of direct experience. Then, the Plant Manager interviewed me about my background and direct experience. Lastly, the HR Manager joined to ask some questions and answered my questions about benefits. The interview felt pretty casual; the Operations Manager was wearing jeans and a company polo. I got a formal offer less than a week later.

So it started with like a first chat, phone or video, just to see if I fit the basics and if I was interested. Then, there were a couple of technical/behavioral interviews, where I had to code or talk about my past projects. They also gave me some coding tests. The last part was meeting with some senior folks or managers to see if I'd be a good fit for the team. Being prepared and professional was super important throughout.

The interview process was pretty standard. Started with a phone screening, then a phone interview, and finally an in-person interview. The in-person part involved meeting with five different people at the company, including folks in similar roles and even up to the director level. They asked common interview questions about my background, skills, and past experiences.
