First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hilliard City Schools.
Teacher
After submitting my resume online (frontier), they emailed and invited me to interview in person. There were 4 interviewers in that room. They asked questions in turns.
- How would you handle a situation where your opinion differs from a class teacher's as a support teacher?
Elementary Teacher
The first round was with the district. They gave us an article to read before the interview. It was a group interview with about 8 other people. It was pretty relaxed, and they asked open-ended questions about teaching. People could answer freely. Then, we broke into smaller groups to discuss the article. I think the point was to see how we collaborate and show respect to others.
- Describe your vision of an ideal classroom.
Intervention Specialist
It was a panel interview, with a large group. They were friendly and asked normal questions about experience, strengths, weaknesses etc. They have yet to get back and its been over a week, and did not respond to a thank you email.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- Tell me about your weaknesses.
- What motivates you to want to work in Hilliard?
Math Teacher
I did a phone interview and then there were 2 in-person committee interviews with admin and department colleagues. It all took around 3 weeks and went really fast!
- Regarding Hilliard's culture, how do you envision yourself contributing?
