First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical.
Digital Coordinator
The interview was extremely unprofessional. I could actively hear the other recruiter’s word-for-word conversation with another candidate while I was trying to answer questions from the recruiter that called me. The volume was so loud it sounded like the recruiters were sitting side by side, and I could hardly think over the sound of her voice. Dodged a bullet.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Management Analyst
I applied and the recruiter called me for a phone screen pretty quickly. After that, I was supposed to interview with an executive. This interview got rescheduled 3 times, very last minute. Twice it was due to an 'emergency,' and once I think the interviewer just wanted to leave early on a Friday.
- Would you be open to traveling to Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Florida for work?
Branch Manager
I had an interview with Jimmy Jr and although he was quite eccentric, I felt it went well. Following professional etiquette, I followed up with both an email and phone calls, leaving messages to reiterate my interest and thank him for the interview. However, I never received any response from anyone. This highlights a significant issue: many employers fail to recognize that potential employees are also potential customers. Damaging this relationship through a lack of communication or a failure to respond is not a sound business strategy.
- Be ready to present your entire resume in a very monotonous, impersonal way.
HVAC Technician
It was a relaxed phone chat, very friendly and approachable. They explained the job and workplace thoroughly. I felt quite at ease talking with them.
- Do you have previous experience in this particular area?
