Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hill & Knowlton.
Intern
It was a pretty quick and easy online process. They wanted to know about my studies, expectations, and interests in the industry, as well as my language level. They got back to me quite quickly.
- What are your studies?
- What is your experience?
- What is your English level?
Intern
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. HR was nice and kept me updated, and the whole thing took about 2 weeks. First, I applied online and answered some questions about why I wanted the role. Then, I had a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager, who was really friendly and seemed genuine.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What drives your interest in this particular position?
- Why are you interested in working for our company?
Fellow
I applied on the HK website and got a call from a talent manager for a quick phone screen, mostly just basic get-to-know-you questions and information about the job. About a week later, I had an in-person interview with two senior associates where they asked about my past experiences and skills, focusing on details from internships and projects, and why I wanted the job. They also let me ask a lot of questions. The next day, I got an email saying I was moving on to a phone interview with two other team members who asked more about my experience and personality. After that, there was a week or two of waiting before the final step. The final part was a 24-hour writing assessment with three sections: an editorial calendar, competitive research, and a media summary. It was a lot of work but not too difficult. The whole process was pretty straightforward but took a long time with a lot of waiting, which was a bit annoying.
- Can you tell us about your previous experiences that are relevant to this position?
- What made you decide to apply for this particular role?
- What are your career aspirations and what do you hope to gain from this position?
