First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Highway Transport.
Technology Analyst
This was a 15-minute interview that went well. I was asked a lot of questions. First, they asked me about myself, then my education, then my work experience, and what I did in my previous job. Then they asked about my family and salary expectations. I told them I don't have any expectations and they can offer me what suits my abilities and the company standard. They also asked why I am a good fit for this role.
- Can you explain the difference between RAM and ROM?
Driver
It was a quick and friendly chat. The person interviewing me knew the industry well and was open to helping with training. They were upfront and optimistic. They laid out some of the regular problems I might encounter and asked how I'd deal with them. We reviewed my resume, and they asked about different parts of it. I had to take a driving test to show I could handle a truck and a chemical trailer. We also talked with some other folks on the lot to see if my people skills fit the company's image.
- Are you okay with working long hours?
Administrative
It was a verbal one on one interview. The environment was comfortable and non-intimidating. The interview took place in a conference room. The admin at the front desk was really friendly and helped ease any nerves I had. The supervisor I would be reporting to conducted the interview. The questions asked were engaging and pretty easy to answer.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- What is your understanding of our company?
- What aspects of this role appeal to you?
Truck Driver
It was a really thorough and informative interview process. They went over all the work-specific details, and explained the benefits, holiday pay, and vacation policy really well. They mentioned that management always has an open door. They also paid for the orientation, my travel to and from Knoxville, and covered meals during the orientation period.
- Can you tell me about your driving history and record?
