User Experience Designer
A recruiter reached out about a direct hire position. After I sent my resume and portfolio, the hiring manager wanted to interview me. It was a very conversational interview, which I liked. They asked questions relevant to the role and inquired about my proficiency with certain programs and my knowledge of HTML or CSS. This conversational style continued for the next two rounds, focusing on my capabilities and how well I'd fit with the team. The UX Lead told me my upcoming interviews would be with the web developers and operations team, followed by the Director of Web Services. I completed the second and third rounds on the same day, and a decision was made by the end of that week. Unfortunately, another candidate was offered the role, but it was a positive experience. The recruiter shared feedback, which was all positive; they chose someone with more years of experience, which I understand.
- Tell me about your experience working with web developers, or do you know HTML/CSS?
- Have you collaborated with web developers before? Also, do you know HTML or CSS?
Human Resources Generalist
I found the posting on Indeed and applied through the company portal. The hiring manager contacted me within a few days to set up a Zoom call. After passing that initial interview, I was promptly scheduled for a second one. This second interview was also via Zoom and included two other members of the HR team. About halfway through, the SVP of HR joined us, and the others left. We then discussed the role and my background. I was informed a final decision would be made by the middle of the week and I'd be notified either way. They followed through, and I received an update, but wasn't offered the position. Despite not getting the offer, it was a positive interview experience, and the company appears to be in a solid position.

IT
I applied online through my school's job posting website. The interview was in person and the questions were mostly basic interview questions, then some odd school specific ones since the interviewer was an alum (like "where is the best place to get a bagel on campus?") Not many technical questions, but you should know a lot about the company. When I asked, the interviewer didn't know when I could hear back from them, but I'm assuming I did not get the job, considering it's been 4 months and I still haven't heard back either way.

Campaign Analyst
I went in for an interview knowing I was meeting with 5 people in the span of 2 hours. I was initially nervous, but after speaking with the first person I began to see the culture of the company and relaxed in the environment. Each person asked me some questions about my resume and background, before letting me ask questions. The next day I was offered the position. Quick and seamless process.
- Are you more of a big picture person or a detail-oriented individual?
