First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Highland Homes.
Purchasing Agent
I applied for the job and was quickly contacted by HR/recruiter for a chat. After that, I was told to wait for the next steps. A big storm caused some delays, which the HR/recruiter explained and apologized for, and I was fine with that. A week or two later, I got an email from HR/recruiter to complete an online application. It was very long, with many personality and schooling questions. It took a long time to finish, and after that, I never heard back. The recruiter/HR didn't reply to emails or call. I wasted a lot of time and effort on this, and then got ghosted. It makes me wonder if they're just collecting and selling data.

Intern
The interview process was pretty standard and organized. I talked to the recruiter, and they said they'd let me know about a decision in a week or two. But, I never heard back, even after sending a thank-you email. It was a bummer not getting any response.
- Tell me what you know about Highland Homes.
Marketing
I interviewed several months ago and went through at least 8 rounds of videos, calls, and in person interviews. Then was ghosted when they made their final decision. Wonder how they treat customers? Very disappointing that companies treat potential employees with such disregard.
- Would you be open to coming to the office and local neighborhoods in person?
Purchasing Coordinator
I was contacted by an external recruiter and the whole process took about three weeks from the first contact to getting the offer. There were two interviews, and I received the offer on the same day as the second one. Everyone I talked to was really polite, friendly, and easy to chat with. We both asked each other questions, and it was a pretty enjoyable exchange overall. It was clear they worked hard but would also be fun to work with. The VP even mentioned that the owners really emphasize having fun at work. I also noticed that most employees have been there for a long time, and they all seem to like their jobs and each other.
- Given your commercial construction background, what are your thoughts on green building initiatives?
- What do you see as the future of construction in home building?
