First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HighKey Agency.
Video Editor
So I applied online through LinkedIn, they looked at my portfolio first. Then we had a video call where we talked about my past editing jobs, what software I know, and how I get creative with projects. They also gave me a small editing task to do with a deadline to check my actual skills and how I work.
- Can you walk me through your video editing process and explain how you handle storytelling and pacing?
Social Media Manager
The interview process was pretty simple and had clear stages. First, I sent in my resume, a cover letter, and an optional portfolio. If they liked it, I had to record a video answering some questions they gave me. Then, I had an interview to talk about my background, experience, and why I wanted to work there. After that, I got a take-home assignment with tasks that were pretty much what the job involves. Finally, I interviewed with either the CEO or an Operations Manager, and they asked more job-specific questions. Sometimes, they might ask for more portfolio examples. It was a pretty easy and well-organized process, and the questions were mostly about the job and things I had prepared for.
- Can you explain your job tenure, specifically why you haven't stayed at any position for more than a year?
Social Media Marketing Assistant
After applying, I was sent a video question to answer. Once I passed that, I had a brief call with the Head of Operations. The questions weren't too hard, but I felt like they were leading questions that I didn't quite grasp. I didn't feel a strong connection with him, but he was professional and communicative. This was a good learning experience for me since I hadn't interviewed in a while. I was told the next steps are a skills test and then an interview with the CEO.
- Can you tell me about yourself, highlighting your past work and projects?
Publicist
Had two rounds of interviews. First was with the direct manager, and the second was with the CEO. It felt like it went alright, though it was pretty obvious they weren't exactly sure what they were even looking for. The CEO was late for their interview and I didn't get any heads-up on how it would go.
