The hiring process kicked off with a Zoom call with the recruiter. Then, I had an in-person interview at the spa. This included a one-hour massage demo and chats with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Things seemed to go well during the interview, and they said they'd let me know about the next steps. A week went by with no word, so I contacted the recruiter. They mentioned management hadn't decided yet. Given the lack of clear communication, it felt unlikely they'd proceed but didn't want to say so. A weird part was the massage demo; the lead therapist seemed super stressed, making me wonder about the work environment. The whole thing felt very corporate and not very personal, and the communication could've been way more upfront.

I had a phone call with the spa manager who told me what they were looking for. Then she set up an in person interview. The massage lead interviewed me in person and gave me a tour of the spa. I had to give her a massage. After the massage, she didn't give me any feedback. She told me about the training schedule for the next few weeks and asked if I could attend all of it. I never heard back about whether I got the job. Three weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything. The fourth week, they called to tell me the new hire training dates. I had already found another job by then.

The hiring process was really long and drawn out. I had an initial phone interview, then an in-person meeting with a manager. After that, I had another phone interview with one of the owners, and finally, a last interview with a manager who was based in a different location. I tried to follow up by calling and leaving two messages, but I never heard back with an offer or even a rejection. It really felt like a waste of my time.
