The interview itself felt warm and welcoming. The interviewer greeted me with a smile and offered refreshments. We started with some casual conversation to ease any nerves. The interview itself felt more like a conversation than an interrogation. The interviewer asked thoughtful questions about my skills and experience, but also gave me the opportunity to ask questions about the role and company.

If you do well in the first few rounds, you might get invited to come in person (or do it online) for interviews at our office. You'll probably meet a bunch of people, like future coworkers, your manager, and maybe even some higher-ups. It could be one-on-one chats, group talks, or even a panel.

Behavioral Technical

The hiring manager reached out to me directly about this role, less than a day after I updated my resume online. I was pleasantly surprised by the promptness. The first interview was a quick 20-minute phone chat with the hiring manager. Right after that, I was invited for an in-person meeting with the IT director that same afternoon. The following day, Friday, I had another interview via Skype with the company's VP. The hiring process was moving very fast, and I was impressed by the company's advertised culture and values, in addition to the job and compensation, which were a good fit for me. My third interview took place the next Friday, and I was told a decision would be communicated the same day. I didn't hear back, so I followed up on Tuesday and was informed that I hadn't been selected for the position.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Were there fewer technical questions during the interviews, and did they select the other candidate because they felt they were a better personality fit after our conversations, especially considering the limited time spent talking?

Behavioral Technical Other

Got contacted by the in-house Talent Acquisition person in April for a phone screening. After that, there was an online personality quiz to fill out before the first interview. In May, I had a face-to-face interview with the manager and HR person, which was pretty relaxed and standard. Then, another face-to-face in May with the same manager and HR person, plus three other people. This one was more intense, long, and honestly, disheartening. The recruiter was really encouraging, always asking me to follow up and giving positive feedback like 'I'll follow up with next steps soon.' She even mentioned hearing I did well, which made me think an offer was coming. Unfortunately, I received a rejection email a month after the final interview. My advice is to manage expectations better and not give too much false hope.
