I applied for the rotational program for software analyst. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. We had an initial phone chat about available positions. After I showed interest, I got scheduled for an interview for the role. The interview started with a site tour, which was impressive and modern, seeming to foster engineer collaboration, and reminded me of college campus buildings with a nice lake view. Following the tour, I met with the recruiter. I decided to hold my questions for the actual interview. I was surprised to interview with the VP, which was great! This department is fantastic because management really cares about employee growth. The VP was very open about the company's history and future plans. I felt they truly wanted to understand me and my work, and to know my resume, and for me to be honest about my experiences. I think this company is on a good path.

My interview started early, around 8 AM. First, I met with HR to go over benefits and pay. Then, I had interviews with about 4 different people from 4 departments. They asked me about my behavior, my career, and some programming ideas like making a linked list, polymorphism, and OOP. Each of these talks lasted between 30 minutes and an hour. Some managers then took me out to lunch (on them!). Back from lunch, I had about 3 more interviews that were like the earlier ones. After everything was finished around 4:30 PM, I was given a task to change an old calculator program written in an outdated version of Visual C.

The hiring process started with a written test that covered aptitude and C, C++, and OOPS concepts. This was followed by technical and HR interviews, and potentially a logical interview if needed. In the technical interviews, they revisited the aptitude questions from the written test and asked candidates to solve them again. They also asked questions related to Mechanical engineering or other relevant streams. The HR interviews had different questions for each candidate, mostly focusing on reasons for choosing Intergraph over other companies.
