Behavioral Case

There were 2 meetings. The first was a phone call to discuss the general framework for both sides. Then I was invited for an interview, which included a tour of the logistics property and then a classic interview. They went through my CV in detail, asking about my motivation and experience. Afterwards, there was a short role-play about an employee whose performance was worsening, and the goal was to figure out the cause and potentially find solutions.

A quick check-in directly with the team lead and a very open conversation about who he is looking for and what I envision. It was really friendly and I really appreciated the openness regarding salary. So we could quickly figure out that it might not be a 100% fit but it was very well-invested time, especially when I compare it to other initial conversations. There, you mostly only talk about irrelevant things with HR.

There were three interviews, each lasting about an hour. I spoke with a Client Relations Manager, a Client Relations Director, and an Area Manager. This job was remote/hybrid and didn't have a flexible schedule, meaning it wasn't a standard Monday-Friday gig; weekend availability was required. They had two schedule options that fit with the US retail stores.

I had a 1-day assessment center. As preparation, the invited applicants had to prepare a self-presentation. Questions were then asked about this. Further focal points were a mail basket exercise and an Excel task. Additionally, we had to conduct a teamwork exercise and together define and present the values of Hermes at the end. Furthermore, we had to conduct an assessment coaching with an agent. Of 8 potential Team Leader vacancies, 3 were to be filled. After the AC, the shortlist had another conversation with the department head. An operations manager also took us on a tour of the call center, giving us insight. The questions were all solvable. I did not get the job, and unfortunately, I was not told the reason for rejection after asking.

  • How would you assess the agent's performance during the assessment coaching?
  • Questions related to the mail basket exercise.
